S.W.A.T. 10U Team Announcement

Due to high demand on top of several players from Schuylkill Valley and Oley Valley already verbally committed, S.W.A.T. is officially announcing a 10U team for the late winter/early spring of 2026. 

There are a lot of details to be ironed out. Our practices will be held within the Schuylkill Valley school district boundaries. There will be winter workout resources available to our 10U team also. By no means mandatory but available nonetheless. We will update everyone as new information is available.  In the meantime, read through the following information to see if this is something your daughter could benefit from.

On top of the other philosophical ideals we have as a program, 10U has a unique set of challenges due to the age of the players. 

The S.W.A.T. 10U program is for you if: 

  • Your daughter can throw and catch with an adult at least 7 out of 10 times from 10-12 feet (both the throw and the catch individually)
  • She is not afraid of the ball at the plate or when a ball is thrown to her
  • She has a very basic understanding of the rules of the game including knowing left from right, positions and knowing the bases in numerical order
  • She has her emotions under control within a reasonable expectation for a 10-year-old
  • She can accept basic instruction and constructive criticism during practice or games and does not “shut down” during certain situations

We fully understand 10U girls, and children in general, are still very young and are adjusting to new environments and challenges. A travel program is going to have less “coddling” than a typical recreational program. Please be honest with the assessment of your daughters capabilities both physically and emotionally.

SPONSORS NEEDED:

We are in the process of expanding our sponsor list. If you or anyone you know would be interested in sponsoring the 10U team, please have them email info@swatfastpitch.com.

COACHES NEEDED:

We are looking for two assistant coaches. One male and one female. Preferably with collegiate level playing experience. Interested coaches please email info@swatfastpitch.com with a general outline of past experience.

There will be an open practice on Sunday, November 16th at 3:00 PM at the Schuylkill Valley High School softball field. This is for interested parents who have no idea what to expect from a travel team. It's not necessarily a tryout. Just a representation of what practices would be like.
